Keeping in mind the following verse: James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. It is with this verse in mind, that I share with you the following.
Ecclesiastes 1:18 For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.
You should get into the habit, of not believing everything that you hear or read, until you have research the problem and the answer to your satisfaction.
Proverbs 14:15 ¶ The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.
This goes back to the days of Teaching Biology and Chemistry, in the mid seventies. The concern was mainly with Fluoride added to your drinking water and informing students on how harmful it was to the body. The fact that it causes brittle bones, and the fact that there were no extensive studies that have been carried out on this poison. However it seems that it is a lot more serious, then just causing brittle bones. You have never voted or have been asked, if you wanted Fluoride added to your drinking water! It is your health and your families; you should be informed as to the truth about this poison! There is an article that was written in Time magazine October 24, 2005, in the Health section, titled “ Not in My Water Supply “.
Why in the world should there be a debate about the problem?
Who is looking out for your health? Certainly not the EPA or any other organization!
Here are some sites that you can check out for yourself!
For those former students, that mentioned that their towns do not fluoridate their water supply. Well, I hope you have considered that all the soft drinks (sodas), juices such as orange juice and grape juice, canned produce, such as soups, and pickles that are prepared in major cities that do fluoridate their water supply. How about the dry produce, such as you cereals and the like, those are prepared in major cities that do fluoridate their water.
Mercury Amalgam!
Although, this verse refers to the knowledge of God's law, but I am sure that it can certainly apply to this situation as well.
The other concern was with Mercury and how powerful of a toxin it was to the body. Sharing with the students, about a report that I saw on the TV, a farmer had bought a sack of corn for planting and that it was treated with Mercury compound. Not realizing that it was designed for planting, and decided to use it for human consumption. The result was devastating, three family members died, the farmer ended up being made blind. Now, a journalist was interviewing him, while he was in a hospital bed.
A student (Class of 1978, David Br…) raised his hand, and shared his experience with mercury; his mother was cooking a broth for the family. This bright student, having found a body thermometer, decided to take the temperature of the steam that was coming from the broth. The thermometer bulb ruptured and the mercury dropped into the broth, the family made the decision, so as not to waste the broth, they would feed the broth to the cat. You know what happened to the cat! The cat died. Mercury is a powerful neurotoxin, I am sure that most of you have heard, about the “Mad Hatter” in Alice in Wonder Land. People working with mercury run the risk of mercury poisoning. To make a felt hat, the kind that Laurel and Hardy used to wear, a mold was made possible of plaster, then a layer of felt was placed over the mold, a small depression was made by hand, then mercury was poured into the depression. The felt would conform to the mold, and you would let is stay that way, for a period of time. Original felt was made from wool, felt is a very dense material, it is made by pouring hot water on a woolen fibers, you know what happens to a woolen sweater, when you wash it hot water, it shrinks. The heavy weight of the mercury would then stretch the felt in the shape of the mold.
Mercury thermometers are getting harder to find, because people are realizing how dangerous mercury happens to be. There is one other place where you can find lots of mercury, and that is at your local dentists office. Your amalgam fillings happen to be made from powder Silver and about 50% mercury, when mixed it is becomes plastic like, easily molded and shaped before it hardens.
Mercury switches are getting harder to find. Mercury makes for a very interesting toy that is why; you can still find children playing with it. Not realizing the danger and the harm that it can produce on the human body. It is a very powerful neurotoxin, affecting every organ in the body, from the brain to the kidneys. Yes, I was a child at one time and played with it. It made the copper penny into a bright shiny sliver coated one, just like the old I think that they were iron pennies, made during the WWII days.
Seeing a documentary of how Brazilians were able to separate gold from crushed rock, by taking a handful of crushed rock and placing it on a piece of cloth, then pouring some mercury, into the crushed rock. After having thoroughly mixing the mercury and crushed rock, they then proceeded to take this ball and wringing it out, such that the mercury that did not combine with the gold would ooze out through the cloth and could be used again. This retrieval of gold, is known as the amalgamation process, then the amalgam is heated (distillation) and the mercury and gold separate. You get a higher dose of mercury into your system by drinking hot coffee or hot drinks, if you have amalgam fillings.
Years later, seeing anther documentary on Amalgam, and stating how safe it was, however they did recommend that, the dentist should place the amalgam under water, to limit the amount of Mercury vapor that the dentist is exposed to. Isn't it interesting, when removing an amalgam filling, it has to be disposed of a toxic material, safe while it is in your mouth, but not when it is out!
