Cedar Creek AAR

Friday-Cloudy. The camp began to get populated. Brief light misty drizzle. Saturday-Cloudy. John prepared a hearty breakfast. The boys commenced dress parade and drill. Light misty drizzle started around noon and continued through the battle (As it did that fateful day in Middletown!

Saturday a heavy skirmish line held our first brigade in check. The fighting was real hot on the left! The brigade numbered near 300+ men. Mifflin Guard had over 100 men.

Supper is served! Good stuff on a cold damp day! Here comes rain. Most made the best of it. We stayed in tact! Good night in camp as boys persevered.

Sunday, no rain? Yes, sun coming on later. We dried out! Then we fought like the devil (Sorry Reverend Mike), like banshees, as we drove off the rebs in a counter-attack.  Lt. Col. David down? No worries, Capt. Mendoza stepped in along side Col. Washburn as the 12th New Jersey and Mifflin Guard regained ground lost the previous day!
