The History of the Candle Lantern
The Candle Lantern has been around for hundreds of years in many different styles. The lantern's that we make are taken from the mid 1800's design. Of course, back then it was just a plain lantern used by a farmer at night to check his cattle or hung by a Tavern owner for coming guests. It was also used by the 3 million men who served in the civil war.
The lantern is designed so that the wind won't blow out the candle. The brass cover prevents rain from getting in and it absorbs the heat of the candle so the handle does not get hot.
The lantern we make is still the same as then, we only added color to it. Just remember that in this high tech age, when the lights go out we still use candles.
