Friendship Lost?

Friendship perceived lost,
emptiness in heart and soul.

Possibly the wrong thing said,
but not knowing what.

Thinking you're friendly,
but maybe you're overbearing.

Like to rebuild friendship,
but you do not know how,
as you don't know what went wrong.

Even if friendship could be rebuilt,
always the feeling that you may lose it again.

Friendship perceived lost,
emptiness in heart and soul.

Smile (aka Faces)
----------------------------
You have a ready smile for everyone you meet,
although you are very sad inside.

You wear the smile,
because that's what everyone expects.

When you frown,
people think, "That must be somebody else."

You feel that the Moody Blues,
were thinking of you with "Painted Smile".

You wear that smile,
when all you want to do is cry.

You wish you could be a grouch,
but you know you will never be.

You wonder,
"Why in the world do I have
this stupid smile".

Feelings

You are the rock,
so it seems.

You don't think less,
of people who tell you their problems,
yet you feel ashamed to let yours be known.

You tell people,
"Tell me your problems",
yet you will not tell anyone yours.

You try to be a good friend,
but feel that you let your friends down,
even though you haven't.

You will spend your last dime on a friend,
even though you will go without.

Yet you tell people,
"No thanks", when they want to help you.

People see your ready smile,
and think it's natural,
not realizing how often it is forced.

You are there for a friend in times of trouble,
yet you hide yourself away when you are in need.

You are the rock,
so it seems.
