Simon's Changeling Art Gallery

Welcome. Our species tends to be excellent subject matter for artistic interpretation. Simply turn to the mortal masters from any creative venue and there you will find us. Walk the halls of any museum of art and there you will see the Satyrs and Nymphs that stare down at you from the oil-covered canvases on the walls with graceful Glamour-filled eyes. Read the works of the great authors of any time and there you will find us; running free in a world of word and rhyme. We are the brilliant illumination (and dark ponderings) of mankind and we will not be denied our place in this world.

Here you will find my own humble attempts to capture the spark that is our existence. Feel free to browse through these poor etchings, most of which feature those Kithain of Sylvania that I associate with in one fashion or another. We of the underfolk have our own unique way of viewing the world around us and I trust you will appreciate this while examining my own point of view.

So pour yourself a warm cup of tea and enjoy. Never let it be said that we Sluagh are poor hosts.

Your humble servant,

There are times, dear fellow Fae, when we are in a state of war. It is a conflict that cuts to the very heart of our existence. It is a war we fight for our very lives but one that does not involve our talent with swords and spells. If you think that this conflict does not truly exist then you are simply hiding your head in the sand. Should we prove unvigilant the very foundation of our existence would be chipped away by those who do not understand who we really are and in their blindness they would wipe us out in the name of whatever banner they serve; be it God, family or country. We would call them the "Autumn People" for they truly herald the coming of final Winter. They are very real and they are very much a threat.

So how do we fight this enemy when our blades and cantrips do not even exist for them? With words and deeds, dear friends. We use their own tools and venues to combat them; ideology against ideology.

The following letters are an example of just such a skirmish I took it upon myself to engage in. It centers on a series of books written by the lady author J. K. Rowling known as the "Harry Potter" series. They are stories about a young thermaturgist coming into his own and are the center of much mortal concern it seems.

As many know I have a connection with the local newspaper service that is active in the Goblin Royalty's territories, the Gloucester County Times. I sometimes like to keep tabs on things going in within our territories and a newspaper is an excellent way to do so (even if it mostly deals with mundane concerns).

It was during one of these occasions that I happened upon the first letter posted here in the "Letters to the Editor" section of the newspaper. A woman denouncing the negative effects that these books have on children wrote it. Upon reading it I felt I was forced to take pen and parchment in hand and write the third letter posted here defendingour position. The second letter was written by a young man (a mortal really) who came to our defense without even knowing it. Proof that while these "Autumn People" do exist there are some dreamers who still rally to our cause. All of these letters appeared in the Gloucester County Times on the dates provided.
