WHAT WE BELIEVE

VISION

Our church is unified by a vision, born of God's love, within our hearts, minds, and souls, of the possibilities for re-creation and renewal. We seek to reach out, to pursue and to explore that vision and to make it our own. Together we will continually and prayerfully seek God's guidance in equipping us for the ministry of faith.

THE NEW COVENANT

God created the world and sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, who died for us, to provide for our forgiveness and to cleanse us from our wrongs. We believe in the Trinity of God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. We acknowledge the Holy Bible as God's inspired word to us, as relevant today as when it was written. The church is God's temple, with Christ as its firm foundation. With Christ as the vine, we strive to be the branches, as a team of yoked Christians tending God's garden, one body in union with Christ. We celebrate through communion that God reconciled humanity with Himself, and people to one another, remembering Jesus' death through the sharing of bread and wine. God offers us His gift of loving grace and the way to our personal salvation. God has promised to prevail and bless us, and we believe that promise is trustworthy and powerful.

As Christians we strive to develop an ever-deepening personal relationship with God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit. We acknowledge that we are imperfect, many of us scarred from our pasts, but we know that God loves each one of us. We seek to follow His commandments, loving and serving our neighbors throughout the world and ourselves. We accept Jesus as our perfect model of shepherding. We live in faith, with trust and constant prayer, supporting and caring for God's world.

God provides us with joy, endurance, finances, and whatever we need personally and as a corporate body when we are true to that faith.

MISSION

The broad focus of our mission is to work in the world to establish the loving rule of God in all areas of life. Our worship of God and our fellowship within the church fill us with an atmosphere of unity and love to serve one another, and to go forth to serve the community and the world.

We seek to discover and to use our God-given gifts and abilities to glorify God and equip one another for ministry. As individuals, we seek to grow spiritually by studying the Word of God as revealed in the scriptures, so that we might develop into mature disciples and shepherds of God's people.

We will be ambassadors for God by boldly proclaiming the Gospel and encouraging others to be God's friends. In God's love, we seek to love and serve the world, loving ourselves and caring for our planet. We seek to humbly pursue justice, understanding, and ultimate peace among all people. We are committed to this challenge in God's name. Amen.
