Previous trips and travels include:
Aalborg,
Denmark
Celebrating America’s Independence
Day on July 4th every year in Denmark, with fireworks, concerts and hot dogs.
The year we were there, one of the fireworks landed high up in the trees, and
the fire department was called in
to go up there and squirt it. And don't bother looking for ice for your cooler
in Denmark. It's just not gonna happen.
Ambergris
Caye, Belize
Here are
some pictures from Belize, taken October 2001:
Crater
Lake in Oregon (the crater left by the eruption,
and collapse, of Mt. Mazama 7,000 years ago)
I drove around it (20 miles), and camped there while in Oregon
to see The Grateful Dead, in Eugene in 1993.
I was nearly mauled by a bear... and hid in a Spot-A-Pot until well, well after
the bear had left the area.
Freetown
Christiania, Denmark
In 1970, a section of Copenhagen inhabited by mostly hippies
declared themselves independent. They still are.
The
Grand Canyon
in Arizona
Starting at 5am, walking down one of the
paths and across the Colorado River in about 2 hours is easy.
It took 5 hours to hike the 9 miles back up. Talk about sore legs!
Merlefest
on the Campus of the Wilkes Community College
A great place to (1) hear
lots of mostly bluegrass bands, (2) see lots of great friends, and (3) go camping.
