Moorestown Township's Wastewater Treatment Plant


 Here are some interesting but otherwise totally useless facts about the Moorestown WWTP

1)    The facility took 22 months to construct.
2)    There is over 14,000 feet of pipe buried in the ground.
3)    The atmosphere in the digesters is very similar to the atmosphere on the planet Saturn.
4)    Over 6000 cubic yards of concrete was used in construction.
5)    The Emergency Generator puts out enough electricity to run over 200 homes.
6)    There are 23 miles of electrical wires throughout the facility.
7)    There are 6,000,000,000,000 protozoa in the Aeration Basins (that's six trillion).
8)    50,000 cubic yards of dirt was moved during construction.
9)    The plant is designed to treat over 1.25 billion gallons of wastewater every year.
10)   At average flow, a gallon of water takes 12.8 hours to travel through the plant.
