PSV PATCH COMPETITIONS

Contest Rules:

All internal contests in PSV shall consist of four (4) Divisions:
1. Color Slides/Transparencies
2. Monochrome/Black & White Prints
3. Color Prints
4. Digital Imaging/Computer Generated

Each member is permitted a maximum of three (3) entries in each Division. Each contest will be designated in one of the following categories:Nature, Pictorial (excluding Nature)and Assigned. Each entrant must conform to the category.

New members with one to five years membership may compete among themselves. One to five year members may move to the advanced group at any time, but once moved, cannot move back. Any one to five year member who wins "Photographer of the Year" award twice, must move to the advanced group.

Definition of Terms:

NATURE: Wild Flowers, Wild Animals, Insects.
NO Scenics-NO "Hand of Man"
PICTORIAL: Any subject matter (exclusive of nature).
ASSIGNED: Specific subject matter as ASSIGNED PRIOR
TO CONTEST.

Rules for Color Slides/Transparencies:

1. Must be titled and include the name of the maker.
2. Must be "thumb" spotted in the lower left corner of the mount as it is held when viewed by the eye.

Rules For Prints:

1. Print size may be 3 1/2 x 5" to 16 x 20" for internal competition.
2. All prints must be mounted.
3. Mounts must be at least 8 x 10" and no larger than 16 x 20".

Rules for Digital Imaging/Computer Generated:

1. All parts of the image, whether it be slide or print, must be that of the maker.
2. NO "stock photography".
3. Prints may be printed on an Ink Jet or other printer and mounted.
4. Rules for mounting are the same as above.

Entries:

Entries must be registered before 7:30 P.M. on the night of the contest. Entries received later than 7:30 P.M. may be rejected from that contest at the discretion of the registrar. To constitute a competition, there must be at least two (2) makers with a minimum of three (3) entries total.

Voting:

Entries shall be judged by a panel of Judges selected from the Club's Medal holders on a rotating basis. The voting machine will be used and Judges shall score from one (1) to (9) on each entry . All First Place ties shall be broken. There can be more then one (1) Second, Third and HM winners.

Recognition:

Awards will be given to the First, Second and Third place winners. Honorable Mention Awards shall number 10% of the total entries in each division

Year End Competition:

All First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention winners throughout the year shall be eligible. There must be at least ten (10) eligible entries in a division to justify a judging in said Division. First, Second and Third Places will be awarded in
each Division.
